Oh, Father, there's no shame in standing by to help when needed. Isn't that what a good butler does? Serve, not show up his masters?
— Dwyer, to Jakob.

Dwyer (Japanese: ディーア Deere) is a character in Fire Emblem Fates. The son of Jakob, Dwyer grew up in a Deeprealm.

Fire Emblem Fates

Role

Dwyer is the son of Jakob and his chosen wife, becoming recruitable from the paralogue "Fight or Flight" once Jakob has reached an S-support with any female character. To keep Dwyer safe from the war, his parents placed him in the Deeprealms when he was born, and Dwyer grew up in a mansion with several caretakers. Since time flows much faster inside the Deeprealms than outside, Dwyer reached young adulthood within a relatively short span of time.

In Fight or Flight, Jakob and the other party members visit Dwyer's Deeprealm to find it under attack, with Dwyer hiding away from the line of fire and healing his caretakers from afar. After Corrin and company chase away the invaders, Jakob accuses Dwyer of exploiting his caretakers, and decides to take him out of the Deeprealms to keep an eye on him. Dwyer then becomes a playable character, accompanying Corrin and their companions during the rest of the war.
