Nifl (Japanese: ニフル Nifl) is the God of Ice, appearing in Fire Emblem Heroes. She aided in the founding of the kingdom of Ice named after her, Nifl, as well as the goddess worshipped by its inhabitants. She and Múspell have long been locked in bitter conflict.

Role

Nifl is a Heroes-original character, and there are two different variations of her available to Heroes. The normal variation of Nifl first appeared as an enemy unit in the 43rd Tempest Trials+ event, and was later made playable in the Echoes of Truth update, becoming available for summoning by players on July 19, 2021; this variation of Nifl is the first Heroes-original character introduced outside Book II to become part of the game's normal summoning pool. A summer variation of Nifl was made available between the period of July 7, 2022 through August 7, 2022 as part of the summoning event surrounding the launch of the Taken by the Tide update.

Personality

Nifl, as God of Ice, embodies her realm. She is cold and distant to human connection, preferring peace and quiet. It wasn't until she met Hvergel that she opened her heart to human connection, growing to love the queen and her people. When she is forced to mercy kill her due to Múspell's curse, she closes off her heart once more, blaming herself for her death & vowing revenge on the Flame God.Due to her long aversion to humans, she finds their emotions confusing and idiotic, especially in regards to sacrifice.

Through her interactions with Nifl royalty her love and tenderness are regained, climaxing in her battle to the death with Fimbulvetr in an attempt to buy more time for Fjorm & the Order to escape.

Nifl: God of Ice
Here's Nifl, the god of ice. Her name probably sounds familiar to you, and that's because she's the creator of the kingdom of ice that shares her name! The people of the kingdom look to her for strength and guidance. True to her domain, Nifl's demeanor is as cool as ice, and she abhors change, instead preferring things that persist eternally. She sees tranquility as an unchanging constant, and desires peace over war and conflict. That does beg the question of why she's been in conflict with Múspell, the god of flame, for so long! Well, just as Nifl desires peace, Múspell hungers for war… So I guess there's no room for compromise there. In order to save her kingdom, Fjorm sacrificed her life to the Rite of Frost to receive Nifl's power and restore peace to the realm. I just hope it really will last forever…

Nifl is the god of ice, and rules over a frozen world that shares her name. Now she's taking a respite from the cold to join us on the sunny beach, complete with a new swimsuit to mark the occasion! I see her ice-cold nature shows no sign of thawing—even with the sun beating down on us, Nifl's not even breaking a sweat! And of course, she's carrying a huge serving of shaved ice with her. It's not just any old shaved ice, though—it's imbued with her divine power, and one mouthful is enough to cool both the body and the soul! I wonder what it tastes like… Nifl has said she doesn't care for hot places, and she's certainly looking as cool and aloof as ever, but something tells me she's enjoying the vacation just the same.
