Searches[Japanese title] is a hovering enemy which first appeared in Kirby's Return to Dream Land, and grants the Crash ability when swallowed. It resembles a naval mine, though it also shares several traits with Flamer.
Searches is a black, disc-shaped bomb with a yellow face consisting of only a pair of angry eyes, and four red bumpy extrusions (each pointing in one cardinal direction). Like a mine, it hovers in place and waits for an intruder to enter its proximity. If one does, Searches begins to pulsate, its body turning red with white extrusions, and, if not stopped, detonates in a large explosion that can harm at great range and hits twice.

Searches debuts here, providing another dangerous way to obtain the Crash ability.

Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition[edit]
In the New Challenge Stages present in Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition, Searches is one of the enemies that appears in the Wing Challenge. It is identical in look and behavior to its appearance in Kirby's Return to Dream Land.
Kirby: Triple Deluxe[edit]
Searches returns in Kirby: Triple Deluxe, retaining its look and function from the previous encounter. Unlike in Return to Dream Land, however, Searches is usually only found in hidden areas, specifically to provide the Crash ability for use on Mid-Bosses and other obstacles.
