- This article is about the enemy and stage hazard. For the stage in Kirby Fighters Deluxe and Kirby Fighters 2, see Springy Hand Land.
A Springy Hand is an invulnerable stage hazard originating from Kirby: Triple Deluxe, consisting of a right hand-shaped plate attached to a long spring. It continuously springs out, then back in on a regular interval. If Kirby is standing in front of a Springy Hand when it extends, he will be launched into the fourth wall and splat against it, taking damage in the process. Springy Hands are often found in groups, where they activate in a fixed pattern. Unlike when it has extended, Kirby will be unaffected by the hand while it retracts, meaning that it is safe for him to cross right after the hand has extended.
Game appearances[edit]
Kirby: Triple Deluxe[edit]
In Kirby: Triple Deluxe, Springy Hands appear in the toy factory area of Lollipop Land - Stage 3 and the haunted house area of Lollipop Land - Stage 6 EX, also making a return appearance in the Lollipop Land-themed area of Royal Road - Stage 7 EX. In this game, the Springy Hands launch towards the screen at an angle, making them look farther away than they really are when fully retracted.[1]
Kirby Fighters Deluxe and Kirby Fighters 2[edit]
In Kirby Fighters Deluxe and Kirby Fighters 2, Springy Hands appear as the main stage hazard and namesake of the stage Springy Hand Land. Compared to Kirby: Triple Deluxe, the Springy Hands in these games launch directly at the screen, making it easier for players to determine where to stand to avoid getting splatted.[1]
