Role

Lyon: Shadow Prince, based on Lyon's appearance in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, was first made available from January 26, 2018 – February 3, 2018 as part of the eponymous Grand Hero Battle, Lyon: Shadow Prince. His personal weapon is Naglfar, which was able to be refined after the 5.3.0 Update on March 4, 2021. He is able to be summoned using Heroic Grails since the 2.11.0 Update on November 7, 2018. He became a Resplendent Hero with an outfit based on the Askran Kingdom on April 25, 2025.

Lyon is not fought during the Main Story or any Paralogues. He features in the Tactics Drills once, used during Grandmaster 125. He also appears during story sequences in the Forging Bonds events Peaceful Ends, Driven by Vision, and Shining Resolve.

Lyon featured in the Voting Gauntlet beginning on July 2, 2018, Fated Battles, where he won in the Final Round against Hardin: Dark Emperor. He was also a featured Hero during the eleventh Grand Conquests, which ran from January 18, 2019 – January 24, 2019, where he led the red army against Innes: Regal Strategician and Ephraim: Restoration Lord.

Lyon served as the enemy commander during Mjölnir's Strike during event 16 (January 18, 2019 – January 24, 2019), event 64 (May 12, 2021 – May 15, 2021), and event 137 (October 25, 2023 – October 28, 2023). Additionally, he was the boss during the first two phases of the second Frontline Phalanx, which ran from December 12, 2020 – December 22, 2020, fighting against Tana: Winged Princess, Innes: Regal Strategician, L'Arachel: Princess of Light, and Joshua: Tempest King.

Lyon was the focus of the Grand Hero Battles quests running from June 29, 2018 – July 8, 2018, during which a 3★ version was given out as a quest reward. He was also the focus of three Grand Hero Party Quests. The first, running from August 4, 2019 – August 5, 2019, and the second, running from April 20, 2020 – April 21, 2020, gave out a 4★ version as a quest reward. The third, running on February 3, 2022, instead gave out a 5★ version as a quest reward.

Role

Lyon: Demon King, based on Lyon's appearance while under Fomortiis's control in The Sacred Stones, was first made available from May 8, 2020 – May 29, 2020 as part of the New Heroes: Dark Burdens summoning event. He was the first Hero to come with Rouse Atk/Res. His personal weapon is the Blood Tome, which was able to be refined as part of the 8.5.0 Update on May 7, 2024.

Lyon is fought during Book IV, Chapter 7: Part 3. He features in the Tactics Drills once, used during Skill Studies 83. He additionally features in the Peaceful Ends Forging Bonds event, alongside Ike: Zeal Unleashed, Julia: Heart Usurped, and Corrin: Bloodbound Beast, granting the Necromancy Orb and Necromancy Orb EX.

Lyon was the boss during the last phase of the second Frontline Phalanx, which ran from December 12, 2020 – December 22, 2020, fighting against Tana: Winged Princess, Innes: Regal Strategician, L'Arachel: Princess of Light, and Joshua: Tempest King. He is also a featured Hero for one Bound Hero Battle, Lyon & Eirika, which was first made available on December 19, 2020 and features him alongside Eirika: Anamnesis Lady. Additionally, he was one of the featured Heroes in the thirty-fourth Hall of Forms, which ran from September 21, 2022 – October 5, 2022 and reran from July 8, 2024 – July 16, 2024, alongside Joshua: Tropical Gambler, Selena: Fluorspar, and L'Arachel: Seeker of Justice.

From March 4, 2021 onward, a 5★ Combat Manual version of Lyon: Demon King can be compiled using 1,600 Divine Code: Part 2.

As a Legendary Hero, Lyon is fought during a Legendary Hero Battle; unlike other Legendary Heroes, he is fought alongside Sombron: Fell Dragon King in the eponymous Lyon & Sombron, a "Legendary & Mythic Hero Battle", where the reward for beating them on Abyssal is the Gold Nomad Bandana. He features in the Tactics Drills once, used during Skill Studies 311.

Other appearances

Lyon appears as the untransformed sprite for Fomortiis: Demon King and Fomortiis: Dark of Night, also appearing in artwork of the latter.

Lyon: Shadow Prince
The Grado Empire occupies the southern half of the continent of Magvel. Among its royal family is Lyon, the Prince of Grado, who's well known for his gentle disposition. Lyon has two close friends from outside of the Empire: Prince Ephraim and Princess Eirika of Renais, who traveled to Grado to study. He really admires Ephraim's vitality and Eirika's kindness. Even when Grado and Renais went to war with each other, Ephraim and Eirika kept the faith in their friendship with Lyon. They were sure that he'd try to stop the war… And yet, it seems that during the chaos, Lyon was fully immersed in some kind of secret research. But what could have so completely absorbed him?

The empire of Grado rules the south of the continent of Magvel, and the heir to the imperial throne, Lyon, was known as a kind and gentle prince… So what's this wicked aura that's surrounding him?! There's no doubt about it—that dark energy is just like that of the Demon King who once threatened to conquer all of Magvel! Lyon must have been possessed by the Demon King while he was carrying out his research… But why did he get himself involved in something so dangerous in the first place? With his body fully under the Demon King's control, there isn't even a hint of the old Lyon anymore. But I'm sure his gentle soul must be sleeping in there somewhere!

Lyon: Grado's Gaze
Why, who's this friendly-looking little prince? Surprise! It's Lyon, the prince of the Grado Empire, and he's been summoned to Askr from a point in his childhood! Lyon had immersed himself in his studies of the Sacred Stones ever since he was a boy, and he struggled with the question of how people should use their power, or if it should even be used at all. Those gloomy days wouldn't last forever, though. Lyon eventually befriended Ephraim and Eirika, who had come to Grado from Renais to study, and they helped to lighten the burden of his worries! Lyon always wanted friends his age who would support him and keep him going. He won't meet Ephraim and Eirika for a few years yet, but happier days are just around the corner!

Lyon: Sunlit Prince
Prince Lyon of Grado has come to visit the tropical island! And what a special occasion this is for him—apparently, this is the first time he's ever been on vacation at the seaside! Here he is showing off his casual swimsuit look, complete with a stylish mantle over his shoulders. It's the perfect outfit for relaxing and unwinding in the sun! The coral sword he's carrying is decorated with plumeria blossoms, matching his flower crown. I think they're meant to hint at his gentle personality! Lyon: Twilight Amends
Lyon is the prince of Grado, an empire on the continent of Magvel. He was once a studious young man who loved peace, but one day, he suddenly changed unrecognizably, and plunged the whole continent into war. He had been researching the Sacred Stone kept in Grado and hoped to use its powers to help people—but instead, he fell under the influence of the Demon King sealed within the stone. Possessed by the Demon King, Lyon plotted to destroy the Sacred Stones kept in the other countries of Magvel. Grado began to invade its neighbors, and Lyon ended up fighting his erstwhile friends Ephraim and Eirika… I don’t think most people in Magvel will ever forgive Lyon for inciting this war. But those who were close to him know the truth—that the real Lyon was once a kind young man who wished to make people happy.
