I know it's irrational, but for crying out loud, just being near a man's enough to turn my stomach now.
— Creidne

Creidne (Japanese: ラドネイ Radney) is an Isaachian warrior, Dalvin's twin sister, and a member of Shannan and Seliph's resistance army at Tirnanog. She joined the army after she was rescued by Shannan from sexual harassment by the soldiers of the Grannvale occupation army,[1] and in Grann 777 fought with Seliph to defend Tirnanog in the first days of his liberation war.

Creidne is Larcei's substitute character, filling her role in the story and gameplay if Ayra died or failed to be married in the course of the first generation.

Biography

When Dalvin brought news back to Tirnanog of the occupying Dozel army's imminent march on the town, Creidne was strongly in favor of marching out to fight back despite the absence of Shannan and Oifey. Despite Dalvin's misgivings, Seliph opted to do so, starting his revolution.

Analysis

This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.

Creidne is a substitute unit available for the entirety of Genealogy's second generation, and her best trait is her Follow-Up skill. Thanks to Follow-Up, Creidne can double enemies, and she does so reliably, because she uses swords – one of the lightest weapon types in the game. Creidne's base speed is also high, so even though her growth is not very high, she meets the necessary attack speed thresholds to double most enemies she faces. Moreover, Creidne has an A rank in swords, so she can use every sword that is not a Holy Weapon. While being a substitute unit prevents her from inheriting powerful swords, Creidne can usually clear a significant portion of the arena, so she can typically afford good swords.

Creidne's most significant downside is that she is an infantry unit. Infantry units perpetually fall behind on Genealogy's sprawling maps, and Creidne has no way of catching up without the Leg Ring, a highly contested item that most players give to Seliph to let him reach and seize castles faster. Aside from that, Creidne's durability is rather poor, because her resistance is terrible and her defense is on the low side. This lack of durability prevents her from engaging too many enemies on enemy phase, as she has a good chance of dying in the process. She is quite good in the arena, but her lack of durability can prevent her from winning some fights, and she is highly dependent on having a good sword, as her only skill is Follow-Up. These drawbacks make Creidne one of the worst substitute units, as while her combat is not terrible, she struggles to get to the action and cannot engage too many enemies when she does reach them.

Creidne also suffers from being largely inferior to her brother, Dalvin, as Dalvin has slightly higher defense and HP, enough AS to double most enemies, and the Vantage skill, which Creidne does not have. Creidne compensates by having a bit more speed and slightly higher resistance, as well as access to the Miracle Sword, but Dalvin doubles most enemies anyway and the difference in resistance is minuscule. These differences seem minor, but when added up and taken as a whole, they make Dalvin the better investment target.

Personality

Creidne is fierce and hot-headed, having grown weary of constantly hiding and running from the Grannvale army, and is determined to exact her vengeance upon the occupation army and to fight for her friends who actually met the fate she so narrowly avoided.[1] As a result of her experience at the hands of the Grannvale occupation army, she has some trouble coping with men in general, with the exception of Dalvin, Shannan and Seliph.[2] Similarly, she has little patience for the antics of Iuchar and Iucharba and their interest in her.[3]

Endings

Genealogy of the Holy War

If Shannan is alive

And so, with Shannan assuming the crown,

[...]

Creidne, the fierce swordswoman,

[...]

and others by his side to restore the land, they also strove for a new age of diplomacy and trade, seeking to build a wealthy nation. Isaach was once reviled by others as little more than a barbarous eastern land, but under the reign of Shannan, Isaach will grow like never before and shall one day be reborn as a mighty nation, every bit the equal of other realms.

If Shannan is dead

The people implored Seliph for something to be done to save Isaach from abandonment and ruin.

Aided by, among others,

[...]

Creidne, the fierce swordswoman,

[...]

Seliph assumed control of Isaach.

The empire's thugs are still out there, snagging any girl they see... If Prince Shannan hadn't come for me that day, I'd be just another one of 'em: dead, or wishing I was... I won't forgive or forget their plan!" — Creidne, Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War

Creidne: Wow, you don't say! I know it's irrational, but for crying out loud, just being near a man's enough to turn my stomach now.
    Dalvin: Every man?
