The Photo Studio is a location in Tomodachi Life that allows the player to take photos of their Miis. It is unlocked by having at least ten Miis on the island and having at least 50 problems solved.

Features

In the Photo Studio, the player can choose to view photos or take new photos. There are four photo types, "Pair", "Group", "Whole Island", and "Child", which is unlocked after having a baby on the island. First, a background is selected from the list of options. Next, an islander is chosen to fill the pose for one of the mannequins, and can switch poses with another islander by sliding the stylus to an islander's circle. Each Mii can be customized to wear a specific outfit they own before taking the photo.

Once all the islanders are selected, the player can take photos of their Miis, with the Miis blinking at random intervals. The player can press the "Change Expression" button to make their Miis present one of six facial expressions. The Miis can be smiling with their eyes closed, smiling and winking, have their default expression, look angry, look shocked, or be smiling with their eyes closed in a different position. There is also an option to give each Mii a random expression, as facial expressions cannot be assigned to specific Miis.

The camera can zoom in on most photos, with eight exceptions. The backgrounds that do not allow the camera to zoom in include the "Class Photo", "Heart", "Pet", "Photobomb", "Prom", "Stadium", "Stardust", "Sunset", and "Superhero Cutouts".

Trivia

• Babies and children can have specific costumes that can only appear in the Photo Studio.
• In the background for "Promo (Rock & Roll)", a neon sign for an ice cream shop has the year 1889 on it. This is the year that Nintendo was founded.
