My interest in minerals started in a "Strahler" store in Interlaken, Switzerland in the mid seventies at the age of 14 followed by a series of excursions mainly in the Valais. Initially my focus was on Swiss alpine and mainly micromounts and small self collected specimens of ore deposits in Germany.

My preferred sites are the Binn valley, especially the Lengenbach Quarry, the Eifel, Bergisches Land, Cornwall and Rhineland-Palatinate. Further focal points are, sulfosalts and type localties. From a professional point of view as a process engineer, my special interest is the group of zeolites, baryte, calcite, as well as all variations of titanium dioxide. I collect mainly aesthetic, well crystallized specimens or micros.

I started with photography at the beginning of the eighties with my own darkroom to make prints from color slides with Ilfochrome paper and also B/W prints. The focus here was on nature art and architecture. I started with Focus Stacking in 2010, first with a D7000, combine Z and Capture NX and used the results in the beginning mainly for fine art prints and hardcover albums.

Currently my equipment consists of a Panasonic Lumix DC G9 on Nikon bellows PB-6; lenses: (Rodagon f 4, 80mm, Schneider Kreuznach Componon f 2.8; 50mm, APO- Rodagon 50mm, Mitutoyo M Plan Apo 10x) Stackmaster, Helicon Focus, DXO photolab elite, NIK filter.

Please, have a look at my gallery, use the great filter and search functions of Mindat and enjoy the photos.
