About Magnesium-bearing AnnabergiteHide

Formula:
(Ni,Mg)3(AsO4)2 · 8H2O
A Mg-bearing variety of annabergite. Contains Mg in substitution for (Ni,Co) with Mg:(Ni,Co) ~ 1:1.4 (original material from Spain) and 1:2.46 (material from Lavrion).
Originally reported from Sierra Cabrera, Almería, Andalusia, Spain.

Note: an ordered, Mg-dominant Ni-Mg-member (Ni:Mg = 1:2) of the annabergite-hörnesite solid-solution series was approved in 2024: cabrerite (not to be confused with Cabrerite (of Dana), which is synonymous with magnesium-bearing annabergite).
