The Dream Kingdom is the principal setting of the games Team Kirby Clash Deluxe and Super Kirby Clash, located in a parallel world.[1] It is a medieval fantasy analogue to Dream Land, and is host to a number of residents who are common to other dimensions. The primary difference in its population is the fact that there is not one principal Kirby but rather multiple different ones, of which four come together to form Team Kirby. Despite the Dream Kingdom being a "parallel" dimension, Shinya Kumazaki suggested that the Magolor of the Dream Kingdom was the same as the one from his other appearances;[1] this would later be shown in the ending of Magolor Epilogue: The Interdimensional Traveler in Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, in which the Magolor of that continuity reaches the Dream Kingdom through a dimensional rift and plants the Gem Apple tree there as well as establishing his shoppe. The other characters who appear in the Dream Kingdom are implied to be distinct from their counterparts in other continuities; for example, Bandana Waddle Dee does not recognize Kirby when they first meet.
It is implied that the original Team Kirby Clash Sub-Game in Kirby: Planet Robobot also takes place in the Dream Kingdom, but it is not explicitly named as such in that game.
Despite the location being called a kingdom, its king is never seen in the games. Magolor mentions that King D-Mind may be the result of the Black Mirror reflecting the appearance of the Dream Kingdom's king, indicating that it may be King Dedede.[2] The Kirby Clash novel adaptations further imply that King Dedede rules the kingdom, although the novels are a separate continuity from the games.
Places within the Dream Kingdom[edit]
The Dream Kingdom is split up into two villages and eight distinct regions. All but a handful of these locations are shared between Team Kirby Clash Deluxe and Super Kirby Clash.
Castle Village[edit]
This area is a well-paved town with houses in the background and various objects to interact with. Principal objects of interest include the Gem Apple Tree, Magolor's Shoppe, the Quest Board, the Adventurer Bell (in Super Kirby Clash only), the Shrine of Passwords, and the amiibo statue. Here, Team Kirby can take a breather from battles and converse with Magolor or Bandana Waddle Dee. It is the only village available in Team Kirby Clash Deluxe, and can be unlocked in Super Kirby Clash by completing the "Tougher: King D-Mind" Story Quest. Exclusively in Super Kirby Clash, the player is able to change between this village and the Port Village by walking at the edge of the screen.
As shown in the staff credits in Magolor Epilogue: The Interdimensional Traveler in Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, Magolor first entered the Dream Kingdom through the Castle Village. He was the one who planted the Gem Apple sapling in the village after retrieving it from another dimension. According to texts from Super Kirby Clash, the Castle Village is located near the Grasslands.
As Kirby progresses through the game, residents will move into the Castle Village. The residents are all characters from Kirby history. They are as follows:
Team Kirby Clash Deluxe

- Sailor Waddle Dee - After clearing Whispy Woods.
- Coo - After clearing Tough: Pyribbit.
- Rick - After clearing Tough: Taranza.
- Kine - After clearing Tougher: Landia EX.
- Taranza - After clearing Toughest: The True Final Battle.
Super Kirby Clash
- Gooey - After clearing Toughest: Venom Kracko.
- Parasol Waddle Dee - After clearing Toughest: Pres. Parallel Susie.
- Adeleine & Ribbon - After clearing Toughest: Pres. Parallel Susie.
- Zan Partizanne - After clearing Super: The True Final Battle.
- Parallel Susie - After clearing Super: Pres. Parallel Susie.
- Hyness - After clearing Super+: The True Final Battle EX.
Port Village[edit]
This area is a dock near the sea with a view of the Castle Village in the background and various objects to interact with. Principal objects of interest include the Gem Apple Tree, Magolor's Shoppe, the Quest Board, the Adventurer Bell, the Shrine of Passwords, and the amiibo statue. Here, Team Kirby can take a breather from battles and converse with Magolor or Bandana Waddle Dee. It is available at the start in Super Kirby Clash. The player is able to change between this village and the Castle Village once unlocked by walking at the edge of the screen.
Over the course of the game, the following residents will move in:
- Coo - After clearing Ignite Edge (Story Quest).
- Rick - After clearing Parallel Nightmare (Story Quest).
- Kine - After clearing Tough: Frost Kibble Blade (Story Quest).
- Meta Knight - After clearing Tough: Pyribbit (Story Quest).
- Taranza - After clearing Tough: Taranza (Story Quest).
- Flamberge & Francisca - After clearing Tougher: Parallel Nightmare.
Quest areas[edit]
Kirby fights rampaging monsters in eight outlying regions of the Dream Kingdom. They can be accessed through the Quest Board. All of these regions have different variants, whether they be simply a change in the time of day, or a total change in appearance (such as the Decisive Battlefield and the Dreamscape). Kumazaki: For one thing, Magolor's original color scheme doesn't quite match the style of the Dream Kingdom. And it's not like he just disappeared and disguised his identity so he could appear in front of Kirby again (laughs). This is a parallel, and the part where he says "My name is Magolor!" is also parallel [meaning, he has no reason to hide because this isn't the same Kirby he met before]. Magolor is a very popular character who was crucial to the story of Kirby's Return to Dream Land, and I'm sure many of you have wondered about his relationship to the Magolor of this game; even though it's a parallel, he is the same person [lit.
