Empyrean
- This article is about the area from the Dream Kingdom. For the Battle Stage from Kirby Fighters 2, see The Empyrean.
The Empyrean is one of the areas of the Dream Kingdom. It appears in both Team Kirby Clash Deluxe and Super Kirby Clash, and is the fifth area unlocked in both. Landia makes his home here, and Taranza can also be found in this location.
Description[edit]
The Empyrean is a craggy, mountainous area high above a sea of clouds. Large blue crystals can be seen embedded in both the fighting arena and in the mountains. In the background, several large towers with stars on their tips rise above the clouds, reminiscent of similar towers that can often be seen in Bubbly Clouds. Crepuscular rays fan out from the top of the screen, bathing the arena in a golden glow. During some later quests, the Empyrean will take on a nightmarish appearance, with dark clouds and thunderous skies, and the crystals underfoot will be a sickly green.
In Team Kirby Clash Deluxe and Super Kirby Clash, the Empyrean features noticeably more difficult opponents than the preceding areas. Nearly all the bosses are airborne and have erratic patterns. Notably, this includes Landia as well as Taranza, who is exclusively fought here.
This area is similar to the location where Landia and Landia EX are fought in the original Team Kirby Clash. In Kirby Fighters 2, the Empyrean reappears as a Battle Stage, primarily using the design featured in Super Kirby Clash.

Names in other languages[edit]
| Language | Name | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Japanese | 天空 Tenkū |
Sky 天空 derives from the Chinese hanzi 天 (heaven) and 空 (sky), and is typically used to describe the sky as in the concept of the "heavens" above the Earth, as opposed to the literal sky or the concept of heaven as paradise. |
| English | Empyrean | "Empyrean" as an adjective relates to "the sky" or "the heavens", but as a noun, it refers to "the highest heaven" in ancient astronomy, where God and other higher beings dwelt. This is most likely meant to tie in to Landia's status as a "Guardian Angel". Its names in other languages also relate to this definition, either being direct translations of "empyrean" or referring to "the heavens" as in the sky where higher beings existed. |
| Chinese | 天空 tiān kōng |
Sky The exact hanzi the Japanese title derives from. Much like in Japanese, 天空 is typically used in Chinese to refer to the "heavens" above the Earth. |
| Dutch | Empyreum | Empyrean |
| French | Les Cieux | The Skies While it is simply the plural form of le ciel ("the sky"), les cieux is typically used to describe the sky as in the concept of the "heavens" above the Earth, as opposed to the literal sky or the concept of heaven as paradise (les paradis). |
| German | Das Empyrion | The Empyrion |
| Italian | L'empireo | The empyrean |
| Korean | 천공 cheongong |
