Metalun is an enemy exclusively found in Kirby: Squeak Squad. It is a large creature that is an angular, multi-sided solid of polished metal, possessing no features apart from two small, black eyes and a pair of flat, retractable feet, much like Rocky's appearance from Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. Although vulnerable to all attacks, Metaluns possess a relatively large amount of health and, like most similarly sized enemies in the game, can only be inhaled with a Super Inhale. Inhaling and swallowing one awards Kirby with the Metal ability.

Kirby: Squeak Squad[edit]
Metalun makes its debut and only appearance as an enemy in this game. Metalun initially remains stationary until approached by Kirby, the latter event causing it to retract its feet and begin to slowly roll towards the pink hero in a matter similar to a Gansan, briefly halting whenever one of its flat sides is touching the ground. After rotating by 360° (and thus returning to its initial orientation) for the second time (requiring twelve turns in total), it stops rolling and its feet reappear. If Kirby is out of its range by this point, Metalun returns to its stationary form until approached again, but if he is still in its proximity, it immediately repeats its method of attack. Metalun cannot change direction while in motion, allowing Kirby to avoid it by jumping over, but it may do so after stopping.
When possessed by Ghost Kirby, Metalun can be made to walk, jump, and perform its signature roll attack. Even when rolling, however, it cannot attack without also taking damage.
Locations[edit]
Metalun is not a very common enemy, appearing in a relatively small number of stages, and usually only one-at-a-time. It is most commonly found in Nature Notch and Jam Jungle, and is completely absent from the first level and final two levels of the game.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe[edit]
Metalun makes a cameo in this game as a randomly-obtained Keychain, depicting it in sprite form.
Adaptation appearances[edit]
Kirby of the Stars! Moretsu Pupupu Hour![edit]
At the start of chapter 5 of the first volume of Kirby of the Stars! Moretsu Pupupu Hour!, Metalun can be seen cheering during Kirby and Cool Spook's impromptu concert on the roof of the Squeaks' hideout. Much like some other characters with simple anatomy in the games, Metalun has arms in this adaptation.
