Goals
[edit]- Improve coverage of all Sri Lanka (Q854) topics — people, places, organizations, culture, history, and institutions
- Add official identifiers (Company Registration Number, NGO Secretariat ID, ISBNs, ISNIs, VIAFs, etc.)
- Expand items with references, headquarters, founders, and websites
- Translate descriptions into Sinhala and Tamil
- Support data imports from government registries and open datasets
- Strengthen links to global datasets (MusicBrainz, VIAF, ISNI, GND, etc.)
Tasks
[edit]- Add NGO Secretariat registration numbers to Sri Lankan NGOs
- Expand Sri Lankan companies with Company Registration Numbers
- Create items for notable Sri Lankan entrepreneurs, artists, writers, and institutions
- Add and improve items for Sri Lankan politicians, government bodies, and laws
- Document Sri Lankan cultural heritage (temples, monuments, festivals, traditions)
- Expand coverage of Sri Lankan geography (districts, towns, rivers, landmarks)
- Improve references for Sri Lankan organizations and individuals
- Translate item descriptions into Sinhala and Tamil
- Monitor and revert vandalism on Sri Lanka‑related items
