A town containing many commercially developed granite pegmatites. It is important to note that Lord Hill and Harndon Hill had their names switched about 1919, also leading to subsequent confusion. Bastin (1911) mentions topaz coming from Harndon Hill, but the locality is now called Lord Hill. The former Lord Hill is now called Harndon Hill.
