Cybersecurity@sh.itjust.works•Is it bad to save passwords to browser?English
5·2 days agoIf you do not set a master password for the browser (that you have to type before the saved passwords are filled in), the despite what others have written, the passwords are not really encrypted. They are, it just doesn’t matter. Because they are encrypted with the password of you OS user. So they are unreadable if someone steals your device or to any other users on your system, but any malware that runs in your user context has full access to the passwords any time you are logged on to the machine.
Of course if you have malware on your system they can also log your master password as you type it, same with any other password manager. If you unlock the password save, it is available to malware in that moment.
Also if you use passwords for anything other than websites you should have a password save for those passwords as well so why not have one single save instead of one in your browser and one outside of it.
Tl:dr saving passwords in your browser is fine but you should absolutely set a master password. External password manager can be more pragmatic compared to browser only.

I heard the wisdom once that you should self host everything except for email. I’m sure there are great tools to make it manageable but the effort/gain is just very high.
Just find a email provider that let’s you connect your own domain, use wildcards, etc.
Of course email is pretty central to most digital identities, as most accounts can be reset through email. So if you absolutely want to be sure you control your identity you must self host email (but you also must own the authoritative DNS for that domain so you must register directly with the TLD and not through a registrar …)

Solarpunk Travel🚲🚆⛵@slrpnk.net•Do you think an Interrail trip through 8 countries in 21 days would be enjoyable?English
1·2 days agoYeah I agree. I also decided some time ago that I’d rather only see some small parts of a country instead of moving every two days during a holiday.
With a itinerary like OP I’d choose one thing to do per country (and not just visit the capital in each and then continue). Maybe choose one museum in Denmark, then a 2 day hike in Sweden, then a sauna by the lake in Finland, then maybe actually visit a city like Riga of Tallinn, then go horse riding in poland.
They got that name because of the position of their seats in the national assembly after the French revolution. Those that were pro monarchy sat to the right, those that were opposed to the king having any say sat to the left.
The furthest time can be is ±12h from your local time (because of politics, weird timezones and summer/winter time I am sure it could maybe be up to ±14, but if all time was sensible it would be 12).So if it is 8:00 at your place, one side of the international dateline will have 20:00 yesterday and the other side is 20:00 today. If your current time is more than 12h away from Friday, then I am sorry to say it is not Friday anywhere on earth.Edit: I wrote this and went to sleep. Woke up thinking, wait this not right!
Its ±12 for me because I live close to GMT+0. For people at the date line it would either be -0/+24 or -24/+0. So its actually -12-(your time zone)/+12-(your time zone).
But regardless of where you live and what time it is, no place on earth can ever be ±24h from your local time, so when this post was new, it was still impossible.
There is missing an area even biger than wage theft. Tax evasion. When cooperations and rich people steal from the gouvernment.
Thats still hinting. Just say: “hey i dont like big dogs and its makeing me uncomfortabel, can you please keep them away from me?”
This has the added benefit, that if they dont keep him away after 2-3 min you can just double down and say “Sorry your dog is unbearable and i am going to leave.”

Fun german fact: Frankfurter sausages and Wiener (Vienna) sausages are the same, but in Frankfurt they are called Wiener, and in Vienna they are called Frankfurter

Ruf jeden Tag an. “Hey meine APP geht immer noch nicht.”
They are safe raw. Maultaschen are filled with “Brät” which is coocked or fried (gebraten). At least the traditional ones. And the normal Bürger Maultaschen do as well. You might find some variety thats raw but i doubt it for any you find in the store.

More like epiphytic. The table neither gains nor looses with or without the corner.
But it is absolutely definitely not parasitic!
