Edit: updated the quote to the one I was actually thinking of.
Yet theory without practice is of little use and producing accurate accounts of past anarchists and movements, while important, does not bring anarchy closer. Twenty years is a long time and there is still no sign of the social revolution – although social revolts continue aplenty! Does this mean AFAQ was a waste of time? Far from it! To think that misunderstands what anarchism is – it is not a vision of a “perfect” society but rather a movement aiming to change the world for the better. Sometimes our resistance – like the class struggle it is part of – is small-scale, invisible, securing minor victories or just slowing down the decisions of the powerful (whether the state or the boss). Sometimes our resistance explodes into the public and the revolt becomes newsworthy. Regardless of the size of activity, anarchists work today to make the world a bit more libertarian.
Not all gorups that might be reported to help the community are safe, use your own judgement in picking allies or associations. However, some organizations are much more open minded than you might give them credit for. Either way, use your judgment, and stay safe.

We have to start somewhere. What’s important is that you think about what you are good at and start there.
If all you can do is donate money, then that’s a start.
Even better would be to volunteer at your local food / clothing bank. Talk to the people there.
Talk to your neighbors about what you do and how they could help. Be friendly and kind in your community, act as if you live there.
Maybe you work with local religious groups before you can grow a network, even as an atheist. You might learn things like logistics and outreach that you never thought of.
We protect us includes many aspects of basic community building. But it also means staying in shape and and learning defense / medical skills.
We have to start somewhere.

Good luck with that.
I think this is a time to help your community, not everyone can just leave.

The new GOP legislation will proceed through the budget reconciliation process, which is exempt from the Senate’s 60-vote filibuster, enabling Republicans to fund ICE and CBP without Democratic backing.
Rep. Brendan Boyle (D-Pa.), the top Democrat on the House Budget Committee, said in a statement that the GOP’s proposal “does nothing to protect healthcare, help families struggling with groceries, gas prices, and everyday expenses, or make our communities safer.”
“House and Senate Republicans just paved the way to hand ICE and CBP another $70 billion without any reforms or accountability,” said Boyle. “Republicans keep telling working families we cannot afford healthcare or relief from the cost-of-living crisis they continue to make worse, but they never seem to have a problem writing massive checks for these out-of-control agencies. I will keep fighting every step of the way to stop this reckless bill.”
The forthcoming reconciliation package marks the second time Republicans have used the filibuster-proof budget process to ram through their agenda. Last summer, Republicans passed a sprawling budget reconciliation measure that included unprecedented cuts to Medicaid and nutrition assistance as well as tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans.
The previous legislation also contained $75 billion for ICE—making the agency’s budget larger than that of the militaries of Canada, Australia, Spain, and other nations.

Where will it get refined?
I think as long as people are allowed to face the consequences of their speech, it is a self balancing system. I should be able to say black lives matter and Nazis should have to face the the community for saying they dont.
The issue is when the system protects the Nazis and labels “woke” language as wrongthink
If section 230 gets rewritten, the open internet is gone. When companies self censor in fear of the government, that’s a different form of government censorship.
Look at this list of banned words, and tell me you think it would be good for the government to censor the internet.

Ba Le Sandwiches is real good.
Feels bad.

I think valuable / invaluable actually have different meanings. Something which is invaluable, is so important a value should not be assigned.

This empowerment of ordinary citizens through decentralisation and direct democracy will eliminate the alienation and apathy that are now rampant and (as always happens when people are free) unleash a flood of innovation in dealing with the social breakdown now afflicting our world. The gigantic metropolis with its hierarchical and impersonal administration, its atomised and isolated “residents,” will be transformed into a network of humanly scaled participatory communities, each with its own unique character and forms of self-government, which will be co-operatively linked through federation with other communities, from the municipal through the bio-regional to the global level.

You might consider adding or replacing the flashing when rebuilding the overhang.

At what point is it just violence?
Is it political violence when the USA bombs people? Or is it really just violence also?
This is the most violent regime the USA has had in a while, and it is being met with violence.
I don’t think there is anything political about it.

The “defense” is assured global destruction, nothing can outgrow that.
