Ban algorithmic timelines for all social media, news, and entertainment.
Ban real-time algorithmic pricing.
Enforce a higher standard of driving, tailgating, extreme speed, distracted driving is insane.

This is the real crux of the issue. Data collection and algorithmic incentives are destroying society.

Self host, takes less time then you think after the initial library build. Easy to do in a weekend. If you have some money to spend on music then buy music from the artists you love. Can all be in one place, none of this exclusive garbage, quality as high as you want, can rip music that’s never been released digitally, and I think most importantly - access to your music library without an algorithm telling you what to listen to. You’ll be surprised how your listening habits change and how well you know your music after jumping off the engagement treadmill.

There are a LOT of people out there who honestly have no idea that a website is capable of collecting data. Maybe even the majority. The fact these numbers are not higher is due to most people sticking with defaults rather than them making a privacy decision.
How else do you expect anyone to take this? 🙄
Rebranding it to WLBR feels like throwing all of that away for the sake of optics that most longtime users like myself frankly don’t care about.
Because to you it’s virtually meaningless other than some weird nostalgia. For schools it’s the difference between a teacher being able to promote the software to 30 kids at a time or not. You may think that’s stupid, so does the teacher, it doesn’t matter.
The fact that longtime users like yourself can’t see the value in anyone else’s opinion here is pretty on point in my experience with this community.

Can the battery not be in the house away from the elements?

If I steal someone else’s song and put my name on it nobody reasonable would say I made it.
This whole AI-art fucktrain is entirely propped up by people who never made art before suddenly thinking they know something.

AI isn’t replacing monotonous jobs though. It’s being used as an excuse to cut good skilled labor for c-suite parasites. And it can’t even do those jobs as well. Garbage take.

Honest question: are you high?

Like Tux but with cool sunglasses and cigarettes.

This. Even a large portion of the American left doesn’t take those threats seriously. One of the most powerful countries in history threatening your own and the only response is jokes on the fuckin’ Colbert Report.

They’ve done far more than you have so far. And maybe because of it some bees will still be around to benefit when people “stop burning the planet to the ground”. Turns out both ecology and environmentalism is more than performative statements.

I agree but there is a lot of people back to buying music from artists and keeping their own servers and vinyl/cd collections. Even the kids. It might never be mainstream but there will always be art and artists.

What’s your psychology background?

Supports Wayland colour management now, nice! Good step forward for artists.

Yeah the country Rams are definitely a thing. Not sure why it’s almost always Rams.

Better for everyone. Some people mistake noticing the colour as hard to see but our pupils stay dilated with warm colours. Hence why red light is common with outdoorsy folks. All these new cool temp lights should have never been allowed. The older warm colours were fine even on big transport trucks.
Obviously I’m referring to ranked predictive timelines vs chronological. A basic heuristic chronological feed (eg. most recent) has little in common with modern machine learning powered social media timelines designed to be “most relevant”.
