"Old books whose copyrights have expired and are sold at unreasonable prices deserve to be digitized and distributed freely." — Zen RS
Indonesian Wikisource is a free document archive and a digital library containing public domain and openly licensed texts built and maintained by volunteers. Through this project, people can freely access, read, and preserve literary works and historical texts in an open and sustainable way.
WikiPandu is a training and mentorship program focused on developing contributions to Indonesian Wikisource. Through this program, participants are introduced to the process of text digitization, proofreading, text validation, and the importance of preserving open knowledge and historical literature in digital form.
The program is designed as a collaborative learning space for communities, literacy advocates, and Wikimedia contributors to work together in building more open, free, and sustainable access to knowledge. Through the spirit of mutual collaboration, WikiPandu aims to nurture new contributors while strengthening the Indonesian Wikisource ecosystem.
This program is organized collaboratively with Wikimedia Madura Community, Wikimedia Mataram Community, Wikimedia Surabaya Community, Forum Lingkar Pena, KLIP Community, and Lembah Hijau Library as part of a shared effort to expand digital literacy and preserve open knowledge in Indonesia.
