Funded by the EU Horizon Europe programme, eDNAqua-Plan is a €1.9 million, 3-year project that will focus on the development of a plan for a digital ecosystem for eDNA reference libraries for aquatic ecosystems (marine and freshwater).
While repositories worldwide house eDNA barcoding, a challenge persists: the lack of compilation and standardization. Harmonizing data formats, metadata standards, and ontologies across repositories is pivotal for seamless information exchange and collaborative efforts within the scientific community.”
