Technically it does pass through Tailscale infra if you’re using a relay DERP node but it’s end to end encrypted. The private keys never leave your devices thus there is no way for Tailscale to MITM this traffic even if they wanted to.
If performance or hole punching is proving problematic for some reason use a peer relay for max performance.

I miss the bread, it’s too expensive and crap quality here. I miss bacon (proper back bacon). I miss cheap used cars. I miss the British banter and shared common experience. I miss proper chocolate - Cadburys (hersheys are a stain on the moniker). I miss how close everything is even though I used to think a 4hr drive was basically the moon. I miss trains. I miss British summers especially the long summer evenings - the sun is the enemy here and I didn’t appreciate that was a possibility before living here. I miss the bbc though that’s easy enough to get if you try hard enough. I miss healthcare not being tied to employment. I miss affordable cell service. I miss the standard of driving. I miss the rich post industrial history.
But I don’t miss the constant busyness, speed cameras, the winters, the downtrodden psyche, and maybe even don’t miss those little bloody red “sorry we missed you” cards.
