About StrickblendeHide

Formula:
PbS
Strictly speaking, "Strickblende" was described as a specific association of galena and sphalerite, not as a single species.
It was used for specimens showing skeletal-grown galena enclosed in banded, colloform sphalerite.
Since the sphalerite was way more visible than the skeletal galena, they called it "Strickblende", translated literally: "knitted sphalerite".
(Blende being an old German name for sphalerite).

The French name is Galène tricotée.
