Talk:Level
The table feels like a bit much being all combined, shouldn't we have each game be separated into it's own table with it's own title heading and all? I feel it would look much nicer that way. - Evankacp (talk) 19:01, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
- Honestly, I think it looks fine already, but seperated tables could look good too. - Kirbysnoopy (talk) 19:56, 18 April 2025 (UTC)
- To be honest, I agree that it'd look nicer split per game, it feels cluttered. But don't take my word as final :p ShadowKirby (t/c) a.k.a. your new overlord ShadowMagolor 08:12, 21 April 2025 (UTC)
- I agree that it's a bit cluttered, although being able to sort it and check all games at once with the sort does provide some utility that would be lost if they were split. That being said, I personally think that it would be better split only if the tables were collapsible and/or each game had a section (for more easily getting to all the levels in a specific game). ---PinkYoshiFan 16:16, 29 April 2025 (UTC)
- Okay, so we would still need to add titles to each table which I wasn't too sure of how to do, but I whipped up a quick mock-draft of what it could look like if we split it up into multiple tables. - Evankacp (talk) 18:50, 29 April 2025 (UTC)
- Anyone have any thoughts on this? I made a draft of it with the tables split (Each table still needs to have the game name added but at least to see what it would look like). - Evankacp (talk) 18:23, 13 June 2025 (UTC)
- Honestly I'm not sure about changing this. What is the issue of the table right now? What are we trying to achieve here? If someone wants the levels from a specific game only, can't they just go to that game's page? - Gigi (talk • edits) 19:42, 13 June 2025 (UTC)
- I guess fair. Partially was just curious to see peoples' thoughts again as it had been a while. But fair point. - Evankacp (talk) 20:00, 13 June 2025 (UTC)
- Counter-argument, what is the benefit of having it one big table over several smaller ones? As it is right now, you need to scroll to whichever game you're looking for and hope not to miss it (as opposed to using a table of contents), the game names in the table take up horizontal space, making it more inconvenient to read on narrow screens... What is even the purpose of the table, and does it being a single one have a reason to be, does it help fulfill that purpose? Rewrite[edit]
Honestly we can also do anything relevant to the discussed above, but I found many problems with the table list right now in terms of what it has here and how the information is displayed:
- Number of stages - currently not very consistent (Magolor Epilogue counts all stages even the Ordeal Door ones, while the Forgotten Land ones only count the regular stages, ignoring Treasure Road ones)
- Order - also inconsistent with when it's considered proper order or not, as in, why are the KSS(U) main games with an order, while for Pinball Land we have N/A? In KSS(U) the order isn't super defined
- Missing "levels" - we have things such as Revenge of the King and Heroes in Another Dimension, but we don't have Dededetour, any of the Knightmares and Guest Star, or even the New Challenge Stages levels, despite all these being split into stages and sort of being in the gray area of what is a "level", though that brings to my final point
- I don't think everything listed here is a level - I don't think we should be calling levels anything like the KSS(U) main modes, HiAD, the speedrun modes levels. These are clearly MODES and not levels; levels are generally in the main story. Calling HiAD the 6th level of Star Allies is just really misleading. Forgo Dreams is a weird case though, I'm not sure what to call it
While I don't have much solution as to what to do (other than removing the "levels" I don't think should be called levels), I think all these should be addressed. Anyone have any further thoughts or comments, and ideas on how we can improve this table to be more accurate? - Gigi (talk • edits) 21:24, 13 September 2025 (UTC)
- Figure I'll give my thoughts on this, even if nobody actually asked me.
- For the number of stages, I suggest that we list the number of actual levels first, and then the number of "challenge" stages in parenthesis after. Then again, I guess that brings up the question of how to handle SCW's Starry Stages... I'm open to suggestions on that.
- Points 2 and 3 are very similar, but I agree that modes should generally not be counted as levels, but I would consider Forgo Dreams to be one due to it acting the exact same way as any other level in KatFL. --◈ WC67 / Disciple ◈ (t · c) 22:22, 27 October 2025 (UTC)
