Merge[edit]

I've going around and checking various sources and categorization of gimmicks in Kirby. This page doesn't make much sense to exist separate from Device when we consider official sources. For starters, there is no official source I am aware of that names "Hazards" or gives a distinction between devices that are "good" and "bad". For example, Springs, considered a device, are sometimes used as "hazards" in some stages. Moreover, by making all "gimmicks" into one page, we can properly categorize them in different categories given in official guidebooks, and as such some of them such as Water can be properly listed (it's not either in Hazard or Device, despite having the "Hazards" category). In short, current categorization of various gimmicks of the series is all over the place, and I think a first step to take is to put them all in one page, and later we can perhaps split them again, but using official categories. - Gigi (talkedits) 19:06, 26 May 2024 (UTC)

Quick update: "hazard" is used in stages of Kirby Fighters games, but called しかけ (device) in Japanese regardless. - Gigi (talkedits) 19:09, 26 May 2024 (UTC)

Bump. - Gigi (talkedits) 11:34, 4 June 2024 (UTC)

Like with ability types, I think official categorization should definitely take priority, so if the merge allows for that, then support. ShadowKirby (t/c) a.k.a. your new overlord ShadowMagolor 11:41, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
Agreed, if we can make a more official distinction with them on the same page (or if it makes splitting by that distinction easier) then merging seems good. ---PinkYoshiFan 00:43, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
Agree, the hazards and devices pages are pretty messy and leave a lot of room for confusion. Maybe "Hazardous" or "Harms Kirby" could just be noted as an attribute of certain Devices. —King Cowfish (talk · edits) 02:35, 20 April 2026 (UTC)
