I tried this. It is good, but a bit too constrained for my liking.
Then I tried ISO 24495-1 (Plain Language) and it is way better.
Last, I tried Google developer documentation style guide, which is more opinionated, but especially nice for docs.
This finally stopped Claude's crazy pursuit of talking more and more unintelligible every passing day

Thinking back fondly on the first programming job I interviewed for. They gave me a printout of the man page for sed, and I had to write down how I’d solve various problems on a sheet of paper.
If you really think about it, making a team play down by a player when someone gets a red card is crazy. It is a huge advantage to the other team for the actions of a single player.
Imagine if they did that in the MLB or NFL or NBA when a player was ejected!

The fact is, these VAR refs just aren’t very good. The fact that they didn’t look at multiple angles on the Croatia offsides is embarrassing. They also either lined up the sensor data wrong temporally or used noise to show a touch that didn’t happen.
