ah, i see: the confusion here is because Linux emulates the feature sysregs. when 'arm64.nomte' is set, the feature bits read as zero! but that doesn't actually tell you whether or not MTE is supported in hardware! github.com/torvalds/linux…

for future reference, if you are going to claim hardware doesn't support something, the easiest way to not confuse everyone is to simply show us what the system registers say
