About the Rochester International Jazz Festival

The Rochester International Jazz Festival is one of the largest jazz festivals in the U.S. and the largest in New York State, transforming downtown Rochester, NY, each June into a walkable celebration of world-class live music. Over nine days, more than 1,750 artists perform in 300+ concerts across 19 venues – from iconic concert halls and intimate clubs to free outdoor stages. With legendary performers, rising stars, and global talent, the Rochester International Jazz Festival delivers an unmatched mix of jazz and creative music in a lively festival setting. Our unique European-style format allows audiences to experience 18 to 20 shows each night, creating one of the most immersive and musically diverse jazz festival experiences in North America.

These are ticketed, reserved-seat concerts at Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre. All shows are at 8 PM. Doors open at 7:15 PM. Food and beverages are available. A Club Pass is not valid for these headliner shows.

Wegmans Stage at Parcel 5 and East & Chestnut Stage

Opening shows start at 7 PM. Arrive early to allow time to park and get food and drinks. Food and beverages are available for purchase near all outdoor stages. No outside food or drinks are allowed. Bring portable chairs. All shows go on rain or shine. Before you go, be sure to review our policies.  Bags will be searched. Individuals 17 and under MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian 21 years of age or older. A valid photo ID is required. See Plan Your Visit for more info.

Attending Club Pass Shows

Enter with a 1, 3, or 9-Day Club Pass or cash at the door: $40 (Kodak Hall Club Pass shows), $35 (Kilbourn Hall), and $30 for all other Club Pass venues. Seating is general admission; no reserved seats or single advance tickets are sold.  Arrive early and join the line, as shows often sell out. Doors open 30 minutes before showtime.

Don't miss our official late night jams at the Hyatt Regency Rochester and Vanni's Jaz Lounge, nightly from 10:30 PM . You never know who will show up to play! Jams at the Hyatt are led on Fridays and Saturdays by Mike Cottone and Sunday thru Thursday by Bob Sneider. Jams at Vanni's are led by Ryan Johnson & Escape Terrain. No cover. Jazz Workshops

For Music Students of All Ages

Music students of all ages, don’t miss our free series of five structured jazz workshops during the festival. The workshops provide an exceptional opportunity to play, meet, and learn from professional jazz musicians performing at the festival. No registration is required. Attend one or more days. It is hosted by Bob Sneider, Assistant Professor of Jazz Studies and Contemporary Media at the Eastman School of Music, and Senior Instructor of Jazz Guitar, and led by five musicians performing at the Festival. Our thanks to Wegmans for sponsoring this popular series. Workshops are held from 1:00-2:30 p.m. at the Eastman School of Music, Ray Wright Room 120 (first floor), at 26 Gibbs St.
