1. Our Privacy-First Architecture
Kitmul is built on a fundamental principle: your data stays on your device. Every tool on this platform runs entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. When you convert a file, run a calculation, or process a document, the work happens locally on your device — not on a remote server. Your files, text, and data are never uploaded to or processed by our servers. This architecture is not just a feature — it is the core of how Kitmul works.
2. What Data We Collect
We collect minimal data to operate the website. We do not require account creation, and we do not store any of the data you process in our tools. The only data we may collect is: (a) standard server log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and abuse prevention, and (b) anonymous usage analytics via Google Analytics, but only if you explicitly consent through our cookie banner. Without your consent, no analytics data is collected.
3. Cookies and Your Choices
When you first visit Kitmul, we ask for your cookie preferences through a consent banner. You can choose to accept or reject optional cookies at any time. We use three categories of cookies: (1) Necessary cookies — required for the site to function (language preference, cookie consent state). These cannot be disabled. (2) Analytics cookies — Google Analytics, used only with your explicit consent to help us understand which tools are most useful. We use Google Consent Mode v2, meaning no data is sent to Google until you opt in. (3) Advertising cookies — currently not active. If we introduce advertising in the future, it will require your explicit consent. You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the cookie settings link in the footer.
4. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand anonymous site usage patterns (which tools are popular, which pages are visited). This service is loaded only after you give explicit consent via our cookie banner. By default, all analytics storage is set to 'denied' using Google Consent Mode v2. Google Analytics has its own privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. We do not use Google Analytics data to identify individual users, and it has no access to the files or data you process in our tools.
5. No Advertising Trackers
Kitmul does not currently display any advertisements or load any advertising trackers. If we introduce advertising in the future, it will be clearly disclosed in this policy and will require your explicit consent through our cookie banner before any advertising cookies are set.
6. Third-Party Services
The only third-party service we use is Google Analytics (with your consent). Our tools load no external APIs — all processing happens in your browser. We do not share, sell, or transfer your data to any third parties. Some tool pages include Amazon affiliate book recommendations. Clicking those links takes you to Amazon's website, which is governed by Amazon's own privacy policy.
7. Data Retention
Since we do not collect or store the data you process in our tools, there is nothing to retain or delete. Server log data is retained for up to 30 days for security purposes. Cookie consent preferences are stored in a first-party cookie on your device for up to 1 year.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to: (a) reject all optional cookies via our cookie banner, (b) change your cookie preferences at any time, (c) request information about what data we hold about you, (d) request deletion of any personal data we may hold. 9. Security
We implement security best practices including HTTPS encryption, strict security headers (HSTS, X-Frame-Options, Referrer-Policy), and content security measures. Our client-side architecture is inherently more secure for your data than server-based alternatives, because your files never travel over the internet during processing.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
