Givebutter fundraising tools are free to use thanks to optional donor tips. When tips are enabled, nonprofits pay $0 in platform fees, and donors are given the opportunity to cover transaction fees charged by our secure payment processors. Any processing fees donors don’t cover are fully backed by the Givebutter Guarantee, so your nonprofit still receives the full donation amount.

When tips are disabled, a flat 3% platform fee applies across all campaign types, plus standard processing fees (2.9% + 30¢ for cards, 1.9% + 30¢ for ACH). You can require donors to cover these fees, make them optional, or absorb them yourself.

Most donors choose to cover fees when asked, which means the average Givebutter campaign keeps nearly all funds raised.

You will never be required to pay for contacts in the free Givebutter CRM. Contact-based pricing applies only to Givebutter Plus subscribers. You will also never be required to upgrade your free account to Givebutter Plus, regardless of the number of contacts you have. Givebutter Plus is an optional addition to your free Givebutter account.

Yes, Givebutter Plus has all of the the same options for donor tipping, platform fees, and payment processing fees.

You can cancel your Givebutter Plus plan from your dashboard at any time. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period, so you will continue to have access until then.
