Create a Word Doc file from the Open Office export.

This process exports an Open Office document with a macro at the beginning that saves the file as a DOC file and then closes Open Office and launches the Word to view and edit the DOC file.

Open Office must be installed. Open Office macros must be enabled. The header doesn't come out in Word automatically. The user must insert the StyleRef field code in the header and reference the style for the headword. This process is described in the Word help file.

Unfortunately, the Word export from Open office does not work with .jpeg pictures. (They import at 10% of their original size and most can not be seen.) It also doesn't handle double columns or headers.
