[Bug]: sidebar chat window showing "design.html delivered" but cannot see in the files app

Description

"design.html delivered" shown in the chat window but cannot open or see inside the files tab

Steps to reproduce

1. open new chat
2. gave a already availabe link to site
3. tell in the chat to generate 2-3 variant of this (bold , neobrutalist etc )
4. model process all things makes a todo list
5. after all task complete in the chat you can see

6. but side bar shows nothing

Expected behavior

new file should be visible in the files menu

nothing is shown

also one other bug i faced when i tried to re-produce the issue , after completion of all the todos , models loves to keep on going , from the chat it looked like some limit was set about the file size so when code is more 1000 is tries to decrease it under 1k , and end up making the simple counter , or syntax error , blank page

Thanks for reporting this. I can verify from the current public 0.1.4 code that the chat delivery path and the Files tab path are separate, so the symptom you described is plausible from the current implementation.

The Files view is still snapshot/preview-backed rather than reading the runtime design-file list directly. In useDesignFiles(), there is still a TODO to switch to window.codesign.files.list(...), and for now the hook only adds a single virtual index.html entry when previewHtml exists. Separately, successful generation appends an artifact_delivered chat row once an artifact exists, while the runtime text-editor path emits/persists file mutations through a different FS path.

So, based on the code, this looks more like a Files-panel sync/state bug than an OpenRouter-specific path. I also did not find another open/closed issue or PR in this repo with the same error terms.

Relevant code:

• apps/desktop/src/renderer/src/hooks/useDesignFiles.ts:19 — Files hook still notes the real files-ipc path is not wired yet.
• apps/desktop/src/renderer/src/hooks/useDesignFiles.ts:63 — the Files tab only shows a row when previewHtml exists, and it always surfaces that as index.html.
• apps/desktop/src/renderer/src/store.ts:862 — generation success updates previewHtml from the first artifact.
• apps/desktop/src/renderer/src/store.ts:933 — chat gets an artifact_delivered row independently of the Files UI.
• apps/desktop/src/main/index.ts:303 — the runtime emits fs_updated for index.html.
• apps/desktop/src/main/index.ts:315 — file mutations persist through the runtime text-editor FS path.
• apps/desktop/src/main/snapshots-db.ts:975 — design files are stored/listed from design_files in the main process.

Need more info:

• When the Files tab is empty, does the main preview still show the generated page, or is that blank too?
• If you choose a workspace folder first and generate again, do you get an index.html on disk even though the Files tab is empty?
• If you reopen the same design or restart the app, does the file appear then?
