The mummy is a recurring monster in the Dragon Quest series.
Introduced in Dragon Quest II, it's an undead monster covered in bandages that despises the living.
The typical mummy and mummy boy look very similar, although the standard mummy has a blue hue in its mouth. Beginning with the Super Famicom remake of the third game, the bandages that cover mummies have have a slight tint of purple to better distinguish the two. Underneath their coverings, they appear to have pitch-black skin and their eyes glow yellow. Starting with their original appearance and in many games afterwards, mummies specialise in being able to send parties of adventurers to sleep with their abilities.

Mummy appeared in the standard card pack as a rare card common to all leader characters.
Mummy appears as a B-rank monster of the Undead family. It can be recruited from Chapter 17 in episodes 2 and 9, as well as Hard Chapter 5, Episode 1: Fun with camping. The Mummy can also be recruited by journeying through the Passage to Rendarak dungeon as part of the original Dragon Quest II event, where it appears as an enemy on the 4th, 9th, and 14th floors. It can participate in the Gremlin's Battle Road as a party member.
