At some point, either by buffing it a fair amount or tweaking it. The Kali style aspects are definitely more the exception than the rule.

We know its one of the ones that probably need more love than the rest.

It didn't intentionally start out that way. Arthur had specific goals to be more of an action game/combo character (so swapping let him have more to combo with) and Merlin had the goal of being a master of all magic arts, which led more to his magic archtype stances.

After that we still only did it when the kit made sense but know the style of the previous gods was an influence. If we didn't think we had a good idea for something though we wouldn't have forced it.

Similar to Norse gods having a higher propensity for stance switchers. Common, sometimes influences, not a requirement.

Imagine typing ‘yea I pressed quick play,’ then backpedaling with ‘it was just a joke’ once you get called out. Your post title lies about casual queues, your dev quote was made up, and your excuses struggle harder than you vs the bots you were going on about. 😂

I just know it echoes in there

Literally the first first comment you said “but yeah I pressed quick play” now who’s backtracking 😂 I’m sure your out after that one

That was a joke pointing out how silly it is to ask that in the first place, Its really not my problem you can't seem to read literal, modifiable, match data I attached in the post itself.

You admitted you were in quick play, that makes this simple: bots are supposed to be in quick play. Your post title says ‘casual queues,’ but your actual match was quick play two different things. You also said a dev ‘confirmed’ bots were in the Q, but they never did, they only said they’d look into it. The patch note you dropped is about a separate bug that’s already fixed, not what happened in your game. So bottom line: your screenshot just shows normal quick play behavior, your post title was misleading, and your dev claim was false. That’s why I asked you about quick play in the first place.

Where did I say I was in quick play? I keep saying I am in casual and you keep saying otherwise lmao come on

This gotta be a troll at this point, or you just can't handle being wrong, but either case it's not my problem so I'm out.

I mean your post is implying that bots are in casual and competitive, because bots are supposed to be in quick play. Why would you post about bots in a game mode where there can be bots. That’s the problem.

What? The backtracking lmao.

The post title is clearly "Smite 2 now fills lobbies with bots in casual queues". There's 4 queue types in smite: vs AI, quick play, casual, and competitive. Bots are only allowed in quick play and vs AI. Casual and competitive are strictly pvp modes.

As such, bots filling in slots in casuals is a bug, and one that has been confirmed by devs to now be resolved. So nothing to do with me queueing quick play as you claim lol

I don’t see where the dev says that is indeed happening, I see a dev say that it shouldn’t happen and he will look into your claim. Those are two different statements. But I’d like to see the post where they say the bug is fixed that had bots in people’s classic and competitive games.

Gladly - https://old.reddit.com/r/Smite/comments/1n1qm8o/ob17_august26th27th_hotfixes/

"Fixed bots filling casual queues"

Obviously it says nothing about competitive, but nobody claimed that was happening in the first place.

Also the fact that the links I attached clearly show the games were done in casual arena and NOT quick play arena but sure, go off king?

You sure you didn’t pick quick play?

A HiRez dev confirmed in this thread that you replied to that it was indeed happening, AND there's a post saying the bug was fixed, but yea I pressed quick play

The issue was definitely from the fact there was only a handful of players on at that time, as it was right after the patch, but "mixing players up" in a queue like that is most definitely not what's happening here

Very true, plus we don't have the op hard bots in the game yet like hebo or sylvanus. If they can program the AI better I won't mind having bots in replace of leavers for modes outside of conquest. But it's going to be hard trying to program an AI that doesn't immediately just run it down and try to land an ability.

Personally I just don't really feel like playing against bots at all. Knowing it was a bot really took all of the fun out of fighting it, the match kinda just sucked lol

First time seeing that, how long was the queue?

~5 minutes. 100% something to do with today's update as I've never seen it before either

I honestly don't know how it managed to avoid being much worse. The AI was very very bad lmao

But then why not provide like your tracker info so we can go check it. Not for nothing but this seems like someone queued into quick play inadvertently and got bots or some other version of that scenario. Im not calling you a liar but whats more likely that someone queued into a bot mode or theres been this sweeping change that no one has heard of.

Honestly fair enough. I reposted with the tracker link and without the censor. I was trying to avoid leaking player details but it's all public info anyway

Turns out I don't know how tracker links work:

Edit:

Still happening as of 25 minutes ago

https://tracker.gg/smite2/matches/8ef2ce62-4e64-41cf-bffb-8edcb647830b

So it's definitely not just a player count issue

Post

Reposting this without the censor since this post isn't going against any of the players.

Tracker link for anyone curious as well:

Bacchus was filled in as a bot in a CASUAL arena match, after the queue reached a 5 min mark.

It genuinely sucked - not only was it not fun knowing it was an NPC that just mindlessly wandered around which removed all the fun from fighting them, but the bot also lost them the game, as it was a close match and they truly fairly deserved to win there.
