Hello everyone, happy Monday! No dev update, because the PTE is now live! Also, our regular holiday content on the live build is in as well. Check out the deets! ->

Before we go into the PTE stuff, as there is a lot to unwind there, on the main build, also known as the live build, you will see a small update where we celebrate the holiday season with our regular update.

Today, we are going a bit differently, a bit wild, so to speak. The regular list of who did what will not appear, but we are, however, giving you a tease on something we have been working on and what you can expect in the near future.

And that is:

PTE
For those who do not know this term, it stands for Player Test Environment. So, what, how, and why?

PTE will be a whole new branch of SCUM provided by us to ALL players who have a copy of SCUM. We are having some huge changes planned in both the near and far future, but also plans that can change the game in a major way.

Programmers have been really busy last week. Work continues on such important work as the inventory rework, code review, and more, as you read about last week. With that, they are working on a new build machine system, so updates have fewer issues on that front. All that, bugfixing, and more for the next update, just another week in the life of the programmers.

Our programmers are keeping their heads down and are hard at work on delivering the much-anticipated inventory rework that we’re preparing for the upcoming update, and we’ll talk about that more as we near its release. Apart from that, they have continued their work on additional NPC server settings and on adding the limping option to puppets (and on their loot). Since we mentioned NPCs, they are also working to add additional and more advanced movement capabilities. We wish you all a pleasant Monday as we hop into a fresh Dev update to see what was happening over the last week. Let’s begin!

The programming team has been focused on the inventory rework, with a full overhaul of both the holsters panel and the main inventory panel. Work on new clothing shader support is also in progress, as well as server optimization and prototyping systems for foliage, trees, and zombie behavior. NPC movement has been advanced, quest UI animations are being refined, and features like the sidecar bike weapon station and dinghy functionality are being developed. The team is also continuing to improve mod support and tackle bug fixes, including additional improvements to penetration issues.

Happy Monday, Prisoners! We’ve got a fresh batch of updates on our teams’ progress. Some of these you may have already heard about and are still actively in development, while others are brand new, so let’s dive in!

The programming team has been focused on the ongoing inventory UI rework. In addition, they’re working on official mod support, as well as a system for saving destroyed trees and bushes. Improvements to NPC movement are underway, aiming for more advanced and balanced behavior. Other ongoing tasks include quest UI animations, a weapon station for the sidecar bike, bug fixing, and helmet penetration setup.

Happy Monday, everyone! As we kick off a new week, here’s a quick look at what the team has been working on over the past few days. Let’s dive in!

The programming team has been focused on bug fixing to smooth out the gameplay experience. We’re also continuing the inventory rework and working on more advanced NPC movement. Armor class rework is also being polished. Now, each piece of clothing has penetration absorption removed on uncovered areas.

Our programming team is currently busy doing a much-requested inventory/UI rework, as we have stated last time. This overhaul aims to make the interface more intuitive and user-friendly and resolves some of the issues you've been pestering us about for years. Apart from that, they are doing some of the usual polishing and maintenance such as bugfixing and working on overall optimization of various features that are coming up in the future, ensuring that what comes next rolls out as smooth as possible.
