About BrowserPod
BrowserPod is built by Leaning Technologies, a WebAssembly engineering company founded in 2015. We build runtimes that let desktop and server-based software run inside the browser, on the user's own machine rather than on a server.
BrowserPod boots full environments, such as Node.js, Python and Rust, in a browser tab, with no server doing the work behind it. Our other projects include CheerpJ, which runs Java in the browser, and WebVM, a Linux virtual machine that runs entirely client-side. Code runs close to the user, isolated from the host machine, and at a speed that is close to native.

The founders
Leaning Technologies is led by its founders and the team is mostly engineers. We have grown organically since 2015, and work from Leeds, UK and Amsterdam, Netherlands. The work is ambitious, so we keep the team close together and hold a high standard for what ships.
Stefano De Rossi
Founder / CEO
Stefano co-founded Leaning Technologies and runs the company. Before that he spent around ten years doing research in academia and in industry labs, and his name is on several patents. He sets the direction for the work and keeps the company focused on building things well.
Alessandro Pignotti
Founder / CTO
Alessandro leads the engineering side and designed much of the WebAssembly tooling and in-browser runtimes that the products are built on, including BrowserPod. He spends most of his time on the hard technical problems and on keeping the quality bar high.
Massimo Grava
Founder
Massimo co-founded Leaning Technologies and looks after the operational side, turning the underlying technology into products that enterprise teams can actually rely on and adopt. He is an experienced entrepreneur and keeps the strategy grounded in customers and delivery.
