24 June 2021 08:00 AM Posted opening Grave of Corelli Op. 6, #8, his “Christmas Concerto”.
17 June 2021 06:00 PM A new log has been started, “StoppedTutorials”, listing in rev-chron order tutorial scores that have been set with player stops so they pause after each example. I hope to have them all upgraded soon.
16 June 2021 06:00 PM The site now splits score pages into two columns, score and text .65 and .45 of the window width, respectively, so you cannot escape my descriptions. The ominous “description” button is gone. If the screen is (or is reshaped to be) taller than it is wide, the old full-width behavior (and button) revert. This helps almost all scores and tutorials be more readable. Full-screen mode being contemplated.

Nice examples here and here.
15 June 2021 03:00 PM A feature has been implemented which causes musical examples in tutorials to pause at the end of each example. Right now only February’s fugue subject tutorial is so outfitted. Try it. Will upgrade them all soon. The idea is due to Valerie White, and the player coding Wim Vree.
13 June 2021 08:00 AM Scores will now initially position to the top of the document, not the first measure, so you don’t miss prefatory texts and graphics. When you start playing or click on measures, tracking will begin there as always. This is not a problem on MuseScore because of the window shape imposed by the grey text column.
12 June 2021 03:00 PM Index page chronological listing can be made reverse-chron (or back) by a new button. Page now expires in 3 hours.
11 June 2021 04:20 PM Description pages now have search boxes, too.
11 June 2021 11:30 AM Posted a new tutorial on Canon, highlighting a severe judgment on Pachelbel’s so-called.
11 June 2021 9:00 AM The search box now appears and works on score pages. Note that when it is focused, typing, including space, will go to it, not the “play” button.
10 June 2021 7:30 PM A search system! It searches my long title (but not description) texts, but is a lot more powerful than a mere text search. Read about it on its result page, here. Search boxes appear on all music-related pages other than scores and Descriptions (for now).
9 June 2021 8:00 PM Published November, a jazz madrigal of mine from 2016 (when performed live).
3 June 2021 07:30 PM There is now a statistics system, updated monthly, listing scores by popularity (times fetched for play). See https://BernardGreenberg.com/Statistics
2 June 2021 04:00 PM Completed https://BernardGreenberg.com/Subway, with my NY City subway signal and interlocking simulator, Mac and Windows, with a long document downloadable.
2 June 2021 09:30 AM Web access improvements. https://BernardGreenberg.com/sets will now access the master set list, and /scores the index. Case of those names doesn’t matter. Furthermore, https://BernardGreenberg.com/scores/830006 (etc.) can be used to access scores—.html no longer required (but still accepted), and similarly with sets, e.g., https://BernardGreenberg.com/sets/BachChoruses. This file can be /changes, too.
30 May 2021 10:00 PM Posted B0004.html, a new score of Fateev’s Милостъ Мира, from an original score Gertim found in Russia (on the net), along with Spassky’s performance. The new and old scores remain, and a new story, with links, with the new one. Some new Set organization was added, too, see the master list.
29 May 2021 11:32 PM Enhanced the “set” system to allow for subsets, organized order of scores in sets, and alternate titles for the lists; Reorganized some sets and the master set list. Created some new sets; see the master list.
28 May 2021 07:00 PM Posted https://bernardgreenberg.com/Scores/B0003.html, a rare Милостъ Мира by V. A Fateev (1868-1942), transcribed by ear by me in 1972 and 1976, edited by Sergei Shchetnikov and myself today. Very long and interesting Description.
28 May 2021 09:00 AM Exposed a previously-hidden “player bar” on all scores, allowing you to see real-time progress and move the slider to navigate (in sound and score).
27 May 2021 12:40 PM Posted https://BernardGreenberg.com/Scores/B0002.html, a rewrite of a Zoe Butler composition which worked out very well, with Hauptwerk performance, and re-posted https://BernardGreenberg.com/Scores/6490268.html, my “Cantata-movement” of the Haydn Der Hirsch canon, with live vocals. “Read the descriptions.”

25 May 2021 10:00 AM Initiated this log, and also, there are now “sets” of scores, collections by important categories. Click here for the master index to sets such as they are now.
