UW Theme 2.0 is here 🎉

UW Theme 2.0 is the new block editor/Gutenberg theme for campus. It is UW branded, has been tested for accessibility, and is mobile and tablet friendly! WiscWeb is now exclusively building new sites in UW Theme 2.0. Here’s where you can learn more, depending on your needs:

  • UW Theme 2.0 version 2.9.0 release

    On Wednesday, April 8, 2026, UW Theme 2.0 was updated to version 2.9.0 in the WiscWeb service. A full list of changes in this version of the UW Theme can be reviewed in the changelog.

  • UW Theme Classic updated to v1.43.0

    On Tuesday, March 31, 2026, UW Theme Classic was updated to version 1.43.0 in the WiscWeb service. A full list of changes in this version of the UW Theme can be reviewed in the changelog. This update includes a security fix for ACF Pro.

  • Launch deadline for UW Theme Classic sites is March 31, 2026

    As a reminder, the last day to request a launch for UW Theme Classic sites is March 31, 2026. After that date, you will need to migrate your site to UW Theme 2.0 if you wish for it to be launched/mapped to a production domain.
