4039 (AKA 4039jb) is a tethered iPhoneOS 1.1 jailbreak for the iPod touch made by the iPhone 1337 Team (u/randomninja64, u/random_user_online, and u/electimon). The name comes from how many days passed between the release of iPhone OS 1.1 and the day the firmware was jailbroken. As 1.1.1 Springboard patches do not work on 1.1, the only way to launch 3rd-party apps on it is via SSH.
