What problem does this address?
The current navigation is aligned top and left with zero padding. Then when you click into the canvas area, it becomes center/centered. It's hard to perceive in the top and it's disorienting when it moves.
What is your proposed solution?
Center the navigation vertically and horizontally in the preview pane.
