"Windows grants read and write access to the following known folders: Documents, Downloads, Desktop, Videos, Pictures, Music when the setting is enabled," Microsoft warns. Microsoft says you should only enable this feature if you understand the security implication.

    It's always optional until windows says it isn't. And considering their track record, it wouldn't surprise me if they'll have access to it anyway, just not actively do anything with it (just gather data)

    The prediction was correct. They're behind in the AI race, so they want to use our computers for data collection and training. Have you even used Copilot? It's garbage. But they're pushing it everywhere.
