Introducing Redshift for Archviz, Maxon's new real-time visualization tool that brings cinematic rendering to architecture by integrating Cinema 4D and Redshift with CAD workflows like Vectorworks and Revit. Offering GPU-based, real-time previews, smart object placement, and a library of materials and assets, allowing architects to create immersive walkthroughs and high-end visuals directly inside their existing workflows.

Workflow view of 3D architectural visualization from BIM model to final render

After introducing support for Revit and expanding Redshift’s visualization capabilities, lightning-fast workflows, and rendering quality to more architects than ever before, Redshift 2026.8 lets you achieve greater realism with ease. The new Scratches Shader helps you create worn, brushed, scuffed, and damaged surfaces procedurally, without relying on dedicated texture maps for every variation. Redshift now renders high-altitude cirrus clouds in addition to the previous cumulous clouds, allowing you to easily achieve more realistic skies. Streamlined workflows help you put together architectural visualizations more easily, with improved storyboards, the new Render Queue and PostFX presets in Redshift for Vectorworks and Revit. Additionally, the improved Scatter tools allow architects to populate their scenes with vegetation more precisely in Redshift for Vectorworks and Revit.

Redshift for Revit

Redshift now expands its workflow with support for Revit, helping architects and visualization artists move from design to stunning final imagery with greater ease and efficiency. Bring your Revit projects directly into a high-performance rendering environment built for speed, accuracy, and visual quality. From early concept presentations to photoreal marketing visuals, Redshift enables fast iteration, realistic lighting, detailed materials, and seamless integration into modern architectural pipelines.

Depth of Field for Redshift Live

Redshift Live, which also powers the real-time viewport in Cinema 4D and Redshift for Archviz, now supports the Depth of Field effect. Use it to mimic a real-world camera and add depth to your renders by blurring objects far from the focus point and keeping objects in focus sharp.

Scratches Shader

The new Scratches Shader gives material and look development artists a more direct way to add surface wear, brushed detail, and scuffed imperfections inside Redshift. Instead of creating or sourcing a dedicated scratch texture for every asset, artists can generate controllable procedural scratch patterns and route them into the material channels that matter most for the look. Use this shader to make brushed metal or plastic surfaces feel realistic, or on any product visualization where clean surfaces look too perfect.

High Altitude Clouds

High Altitude Clouds give environment and lighting artists a more flexible way to build skies with scale, depth, and atmosphere directly in Redshift. Make outdoor visualizations more realistic by adding High Altitude Clouds to existing skies that previously only supported low-altitude cumulous clouds. Controls for density, altitude, scale, wind, color, anisotropy, and lighting allow artists to shape both the structure and the mood of the cloud layer.

Redshift for Archviz enhancements

Redshift 2026.8 speeds up essential workflows of architects and designers working in Vectorworks or Revit, allowing them to deliver final renders faster: The improved scatter tools provide more control over even the largest vegetation and grass systems. Customize how often individual assets are used with the new Frequency Control or instantly remove unwanted scatter areas with the Exclusion List. The new Render Queue allows you to schedule multiple still images and animations to be rendered automatically. Focus on designing instead of babysitting renders or restarting jobs one by one and instantly stylize your visuals by applying PostFX Presets that streamline final look development.
