    Fort Gibson was established in 1824. Today, the site is owned and operated by the Oklahoma Historical Society. The site features original buildings from the 1840s–1870s, a reconstruction of the early log fort and the stockade, and a visitor center inside the historic hospital.

    The 91st annual American Indian Exposition is underway in Anadarko, Oklahoma. This silent video from our archives shows the event’s parade in 1939. The expo was created by Native Americans who wanted an event that better promoted and represented their communities and tribes.
