Research Services
For a pre-paid fee, one of our expert researchers will work on your research topic using our extensive collections. This service is ideal for in-depth or long-term genealogical or historical research.
While we cannot guarantee results, we will make every effort to assist you by documenting all sources consulted during the research process, as well as provide reference quality images of materials (when applicable).

Rush service (2-week turnaround) available for an additional fee
When submitting your request, please be sure to describe your request and attach any supporting documents that you feel may be helpful to guide our researchers.

What is a remote research service?
Remote research services allow you to access and use our archives without visiting in person. Our staff can assist you by answering research questions (large and small), conducting searches using catalogs and databases, and providing digital copies of materials when possible.
Who can use these services?
Anyone—students, faculty, independent researchers, or the general public.
What kinds of requests can I make remotely?
Detailed research inquiries (e.g., genealogy, historical, etc). Requests can range from building a family tree to interpreting and providing context on historical documents.
Does HSP offer transcription services?
Not currently. HSP researchers can assist with some small transcription requests, but we do not offer a full transcription service.
What are reference quality images?
These images are taken via smart phone or tablet and are meant for research purposes only. For printing or publishing, HSP offers high-resolution reproductions through our Rights and Reproductions department. Click here for more information.
