Apprenticeship Carolina and Florence-Darlington Technical College partnered with McLeod Health to create a successful registered apprenticeship program for the hospital’s advanced certified nursing assistants. In addition, McLeod Health recently began a youth apprenticeship program that will begin training students in high school and preparing them for careers in the medical field. 

Palmetto Dunes partnered with the Technical College of the Lowcountry (TCL) and Apprenticeship Carolina to develop an on-site apprenticeship program that provides hands-on training to culinary apprentices.

BASF’s apprenticeship program partners with Tri-County Technical College and Apprenticeship Carolina to give individuals who lack manufacturing experience the skills needed to work at the Seneca, SC facility. 

Lexington County EMS partnered with Midlands Technical College and Apprenticeship Carolina to develop an on-site apprenticeship program that quickly trains and certifies new emergency medical service personnel. 

Savannah River Site partnered with Aiken Technical College and Apprenticeship Carolina to develop registered apprenticeships to quickly train, qualify and certify technicians for their workforce. This award-winning apprenticeship program has expanded and is now also available at Denmark Technical College and Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College.

Apprenticeship Carolina and York Technical College partnered with the City of Rock Hill to create a new apprenticeship program for refuse drivers. The city pays for the apprentices’ education and helps them acquire a commercial driver’s license (CDL) thru York Tech. The successful apprenticeship program has filled vacancies, reduced turnover, and saved the City of Rock Hill time and money. 

Cooper Standard uses apprenticeship to grow the next generation of its highly skilled technicians. Working with Apprenticeship Carolina and Spartanburg Community College, Cooper Standard pays apprentices to earn while they learn through a combination of classroom and hands-on training, resulting in a more motivated and productive workforce.

Partnering with Apprenticeship Carolina and Trident Technical College, Walgreens’ Youth Apprenticeship program allows qualifying South Carolina students to earn and learn while in high school. The program combines high school curriculum and career and technology training with critical on-the-job training. Students are paid and receive wage progressions through part-time work while earning a national credential.

MTU partnered with Apprenticeship Carolina to develop and launch a youth apprentice program in Aiken County.

ZF Transmissions Gray Court partnered with Apprenticeship Carolina and Piedmont Technical College to develop a registered 3-year apprenticeship program for maintenance technicians. Participants are paid to complete 4000 hours of training and earn an associates degree, and are offered a job opportunity upon completion.

Right at Home Healthcare received a grant from Apprenticeship Carolina to establish a registered apprenticeship program for certified nursing assistants (CNA) with the Technical College of the Lowcountry. Caregivers receive a wage progression while they gain the skills to become CNA’s. Kimberly Speaks excelled in the program and in 2020 received Right at Home’s National Caregiver of the Year Award. 

McLeod Information Systems partnered with Apprenticeship Carolina and Trident Technical College to develop a registered youth apprenticeship program in information technology for local high school students. Participants are paid to learn skills to go into the workforce and receive an associate’s degree. 

Nephron Pharmaceuticals partnered with Apprenticeship Carolina and Midlands Technical College to develop registered apprenticeship programs for current employees and a youth apprenticeship program for high school students in the local area. Participants advance their skills and earn while they learn.
