Campus Connect Office HoursOffice Hours Defined times when the Global Community Team are in the #community-events Slack channel. If there is anything you would like to discuss – you do not need to inform them in advance.You are very welcome to drop into any of the Community Team Slack channels at any time. are regular open sessions hosted by the WordPress Community Team to support current Campus Connect organizers and to answer questions from community members interested in getting involved with WordPress education initiatives.

These sessions provide a space to ask questions, get clarity on processes, share updates, and learn from others working on Campus Connect, Student Clubs, and WordPress Credits.

Who Are These Office Hours For?

Campus Connect Office Hours are primarily intended for:

  • Current Campus Connect organizers
    • Ask questions about event planning, timelines, budgets, approvals, websites, and reporting.
    • Get help navigating the organizer process or next steps.
    • Share updates or challenges from your event.
  • Interested or potential organizers
    • Learn what Campus Connect is and how to get started
    • Understand expectations before applying
    • Ask general questions about education initiatives, including Student Clubs and WordPress Credits.

While the focus is on supporting active organizers, we welcome questions from anyone exploring how they can contribute or participate.

Before You Join (For Organizers)

To make the most of Campus Connect Office Hours, organizers are encouraged to come prepared with:

  • Your event link or draft event page (if available)
  • Event status or timeline (planned date(s), format, campuses involved)
  • Budget draft or cost estimates (even a rough version is fine)
  • Institution details (confirmed or tentative)
  • Specific questions or challenges you’d like help with

Preparation isn’t mandatory; you’re welcome to join just to listen or learn. But having these details ready will help the host provide more targeted guidance.

What Can You Ask During Office Hours?

You’re welcome to bring questions or topics such as:

  • Campus Connect event formats (single-day, multi-day, or series)
  • Application and approval process
  • Budget planning and reviews
  • Venue requirements and contracts
  • Website setup and promotion
  • Student registration, certificates, and reporting
  • Post-event activities, student clubs, and WP Credits
  • General guidance on WordPress education initiatives

No question is too small – Office Hours are meant to be supportive and practical.

How the Session Works

  • Asynchronous discussion:
    You can ask questions in the designated SlackSlack Slack is a Collaborative Group Chat Platform https://slack.com/. The WordPress community has its own Slack Channel at https://make.wordpress.org/chat/ thread before, during, or after the session.
  • Live discussion (optional):
    A Google Meet link will be shared for those who prefer to join live and talk through questions in real time.

You’re welcome to participate in whichever format works best for you.
