16 Faces, the co-owner of Delphic Iris Records, is an enigmatic and experimental Berlin-based musician and producer with a keen interest in vinyl culture and a DIY approach to his craft. His productions and performances, as the name suggests, encompass a range of multifaceted styles, often skewing towards the strange, moody, and percussive, with a strong emphasis on unique sound
worlds. Originating from the arid suburbs of Australia and previously based in London, he has an extensive background that has taken him across several continents, enriching his deeply nuanced work with diverse inspirations. His influences include spaced-out ambient electronics, rich IDM rhythms, and a profound appreciation for a diverse array of dystopian UK styled bass music.
For the past year, 16 Faces has been part of Martyn's 3024 mentoring program, where he is honing his arranging skills and delving further into discussions on community building, justice, and integrity within today's electronic music scene and recently had a single out as part of 3024's Undercurrent Vol1 compilation.
During the pandemic, he collaborated with the independent Japanese fashion brand Beaugan. His previously unreleased track "Into the Abyss" was reworked into an eerie ambient synth score for their surreal and mysterious short film "Circadian," released in 2020 and featured on XLR8R.
He has also collaborated with the UK conceptual-noise tape label Algebra of
Need, touring Japan with them. His productions have received positive praise and DJ support from notable artists such as Clouds, Cici, Hybrid Theory, Bloodtrust, Adam Beyer, and Jacques Greene, establishing his credible clout in the industry.
