A few suggestions: document chaining, Direct Discovery, and ask the customer of they really need to analyse that amount of data.. often they think they do but actually don't. E. G. Do they really need 10 years' worth of data? If they do then split into 2 x 5 years: current and historical. Also consider Publisher to split into smaller apps, E. G. one per country.
I love Workflowy for brainstorming and brain dumps (which I then archive in Evernote). I love its simplicity. I tried using it for tasks - and you'd think it'd be perfect with its tags etc - but alas it became too confusing for me when the list started growing. I'd recommend giving it a go though. Might work for you.
I've tried every app on the planet, bridging all productivity methodologies from Getting Things Done to Personal Kanban to Covey's four quadrants, but I finally opted for simplicity: Teuxdeux. Yes it's lacking features but as a simple task app it works perfectly. I still use Trello if I need to manage complex team projects. What I like about it is that if something goes past the due date it simply moves to the next day rather than annoy me with reminder emails and warning flags. The complexity and attitude of some apps just puts me off. I've used Teuxdeux for a few months and am still constantly referring to it. Great iPhone app too.
