Most of us have emotionally charged energies hanging out inside us. Our system protects us from feeling things we aren't yet able to process. If this is coming up you are likely ready right now.

For me, saying "I'm ready to feel you" directly to that energy felt ridiculous but it worked like magic! The release was noticable and very rapidly those emotions seemed to lose their charge and become very small and even cute aspects of myself that no longer have any weight.

Trust your body and do what feels right to you. That book has many other methods that might be right for you.
