even just recently axios has a supply chain attack and the npm package was compromised

our sr dev designed our current application to rely as little on 3rd party packages as possible, we use fetch to make http requests and there is 0 issues

his projects use axios because “it reduces some boilerplate” and aforementioned excuse

it’s exhausting because he has really good ideas about project structure and design and architecture but he spams Claude prs and has some really strange takes here and there

I rage installed obsidian at work because of notepad. I wouldn’t call it “perfectly fine” by any means.

Notepad is extremely slow and bloated. Obsidian loads faster and never loses scratch pad sessions (probably because they don’t exist and are stored)

Obsidian is some massive electron app and runs better than notepad.

I got a retro handheld emulator and personally as someone who’s cleared a few GBA games from back in the day what I really like is the instant feedback and quick response of gba games.

No waiting for stupid animations, no annoying repeating voiclines/quips every 3 seconds.

I get that it seems like an exaggeration but there’s a lot to ff14 that can’t be summarized simply or easily. The headline is spot on.

The community at large is worried if the next expansion fails.

MMOs are costly to develop, Square Enix has shown time and time again that their funding goes towards everything they have except FF14. Even the most casual players joke that FF14’s “ten devs” can’t handle x change proposal.

The game has a lot of technical debt, and many issues have existed for a long time with the game server design, and that just scratches the surface.

The game’s content patch cycle is under heavy scrutiny by the community for being too thin and spread out and having little repeatable content.

I hope SE designs something where my friends and I can dive into and have a repeatable source of entertainment and fun. There’s literally nothing like this.

I would expand more but this could turn into a very long rant about current systems that are strangely socially punishing (punished for playing with friends).
