The Philippine Constructors Association is launching a Special 6-Part Webinar Series, which will discuss techniques and best practices contractors can deploy to improve the quality and durability of concrete pavements.
The program's core curriculum will revolve around current practices of concrete construction referencing the Guide for Construction Pavements, published by the ACI Committee 325. A blend of local and international lecturers will lead the webinars, headed by Rick Yelton - to ensure that attendees will learn from the best in the business.
Specifically, the program will be divided into the following parts:
1. April 5 – Design Principles (during Philconstruct Luzon) - free
2. May 31 – Material Selection
3. June 21 – How to Prepare for Placement (during Philconstruct Visayas)
4. August 16 – Placement Best Practices
5. September 6 – Quality Control during Placement (during Philconstruct Mindanao)
6. November 8 – Maintenance and Repair (during Philconstruct Manila)
Building up from the previous session on Material Selection, the third session will delve into the practical aspects of selecting the five key materials that form the entire pavement.
After the third session, participants will be able to:

Identify the types of pavement defects that
effective planning can avoid in the mobilization stage;•
Select the checklist items that will ensure an efficient
placement;•
Determine the appropriate paving method and equipment that
matches the project;•
Prepare a plant production site and traffic pattern;•
Establish the concrete mix production and delivery plan; and•
Verify the subgrade conditionInvestment fee:
• PCA Member : P1000 per session, P4500 for bundle of 5 sessions
• Non-Member : P1300 per session, P6000 for bundle of 5 sessions
