Today we commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, a day that forever changed New York City and our nation. We remember the thousands of lives lost, the families forever changed, and the countless acts of courage that emerged from one of our nation's darkest days. Like so many across New York, Nasdaq carries its own memory of September 11th. Our former headquarters at One Liberty Plaza stood just steps from the World Trade Center. A quarter of a century later, the passage of time has not diminished the weight of that loss. We honor those who were taken from us by carrying their memory forward and by drawing inspiration from the strength and resilience of a community that helped a city begin to heal. This morning we were honored to welcome the New York City Fire Department and FDNY Foundation to Nasdaq as we recognized the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who answered the call on September 11th, including the 343 FDNY members who made the ultimate sacrifice. Their legacy remains woven into the fabric of this city. Twenty-five years later, we remain steadfast in our promise to Never Forget.

Texas is building a governance and regulatory framework designed to reduce ambiguity so boards can act with conviction, investors can model risk with confidence, and companies can plan in decades rather than quarters. At the center are reforms like SB 29, SB 1057, and stronger business-court infrastructure. As companies align incorporation, dispute resolution, and capital access, Nasdaq Texas extends Nasdaq’s global liquidity and market structure into the state where the rules are clear and capital is flowing. Markets are moving toward a future with less friction, greater velocity, and fewer barriers between assets, capital, and investors. But as markets evolve, one thing cannot change: our trust in how they operate. Trust in our markets has been built over decades through a commitment to transparency, resilience, and integrity. As new technologies and innovative market models emerge, our role is to help ensure those standards evolve alongside them. That's why I'm excited about our relationship with Payward. The partnership is rooted in leveraging our respective core capabilities and expertise to drive adoption of tokenized equities and the Nasdaq Equity Token design. As part of that, Payward will adopt Nasdaq's surveillance technology across its trading venues, because market integrity is the key to developing healthy, vibrant markets and driving adoption. As we look to the future, we're focused on building greater interoperability between permissioned markets and permissionless networks, enabling assets and capital to move more seamlessly across an increasingly connected financial ecosystem. Tokenization and the rails it sits on have the potential to modernize capital markets and deliver better outcomes for all participants. Realizing that potential requires trusted infrastructure, robust governance, and the protections that have enabled investors, issuers, and institutions to participate with confidence for generations. That is the work ahead, and we are excited to help shape it. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gmHgwW6y
